'Final Fantasy XV' DLC News: Episode Gladiolus Brings the Former Shield of the Founder King
It has been months since the action/role-playing game (RPG) "Final Fantasy XV" has been released, and yet the story continues to expand with scheduled downloadable contents (DLCs). With the upcoming Episode Gladiolus next week, Square Enix is unveiling more details on what fans can expect from the highly popular game.
In the game's official website, Episode Gladiolus has been described to be an expansion in which the player gets to control Gladio, the muscle of the bunch, as the main character. The event picks up after meeting Ravus and him being unable to protect Noctis, wherein he decides to leave and train with Cor the Immortal to gain more power.
Prior to its launch, a fact sheet has been released, revealing more information about the DLC. An enhanced backstory states that Cor is the only one who survived the trials, and now he accompanies Gladio to challenge the former Shield of the Founder King, Gilgamesh himself, in hopes to acquire strength enough to be called the rightful protector of Lucis' king.
Aside from the fact that this episode gives a glimpse of what Gladio was up to after he left the group, it will also feature a new "Valor" and "Rage" system, his skill set which is in contrast to Noctis' warping and illusory dodging. There will also be a new environment where the whole episode is set.
There are more that players can acquire after finishing the episode. There are special items that can be carried over to the main game, and two new modes, namely "Score Attack" and "Final Trial," will also be made available.
The trailer for the upcoming DLC has certainly been a great representation of what fans can expect as a unique experience in playing as Gladio. What fans noticed, however, is how Cor becomes the final trial. Is he the personification of Gilgamesh, will there be any twist in the end?
That is something fans will have to discover when "Final Fantasy XV" Episode Gladiolus becomes available on March 28, 2017. The DLC can be purchased for $4.99 or with the Season Pass for $24.99.
