'Final Fantasy XV' News: Title's Release Date Confirmed By Game Director
"Final Fantasy XV's" game director has confirmed the title's release date through a message.
On New Year's day, Square Enix published a letter from "Final Fantasy" director Hajime Tabata in its official blog. There was the obligatory New Year's greeting, after which he goes on to the meat of his message.
The game that has been in development phase for quite some time now is finally confirmed to release this year. "We will finally release FFXV this year, in 2016!" Tabata said in the post.
Touching a little bit on what the game's development required from the team, the game director then shifted his message to the future, saying: "In development, previous phases required wisdom and strength. However, moving forward the final phase will focus on effort and willpower."
Tabata also promises that the team will do all they can to not only finish the game but also release one that gamers will surely love for a long time: "I vow to you all that every member in the team will do their best to the very last possible moment taking responsibility and pride in their craft. We will do everything we can do to finish FFXV to create an experience we are incredibly proud of and one that you will enjoy and treasure."
He ends his message by thanking the people who have supported the "FFXV" team.
A previous rumor has placed the game's release window in the summer of 2016. This "Final Fantasy XV" release date rumor originated from a survey that Square Enix conducted last month, asking people regarding which game they would prioritize buying, "Final Fantasy XV" or "Persona 5," should the two games come out at roughly the same time.
Square Enix is expected to release more details about the game this month in its "Final Fantasy XV" Active Time Report. The report will also provide the game's fans and followers with a new battle footage, discuss about the Niflheim Empire, and more. The Active Time Report will air on Square Enix's YouTube channel, but no specific date has been revealed for the event so far.
