'Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition' Release Date: Game to Launch Next Week

"Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition" will launch on the iOS and Android on Feb. 9.

The information comes from a pre-order page on the App Store, which Gematsu points out is the same type of source that leaked the release date of "Life is Strange," the episodic graphic adventure video game also published by Square Enix.

"Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition" gives mobile users the opportunity to experience the story of Noctis and company anywhere as told in the original "Final Fantasy XV" game.

It will be spread across 10 chapters, the first two of which will be available for free. The rest will be available for purchase. The third chapter is priced at $0.99 while fourth one down to the last chapter are at $3.99 each.

"Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition" will feature "a cast of cute and cool characters," which simply means that the heroes will get chibi-like versions of themselves in the mobile game.

The official description for "Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition" lifted from the App Store page reads:

"Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition" will be 785.5 MB in size. The original game is also getting a Windows Edition that will be launched on March 6.
