'Final Fantasy XV' Release Date and News: Square Enix Announces New Smartphone Tie-In Game 'King's Knight: Wrath of the Dark Dragon'
"The Final Fantasy" universe just keeps getting bigger and bigger with every release. Now on its fifteenth iteration, the most awaited upcoming action RPG is bringing along a new smartphone game—"King's Knight: Wrath of the Dark Dragon."

Square Enix, the developer and publisher of the Final Fantasy franchise, has announced that they will be releasing a new mobile game. The company launched "King's Knight: Wrath of the Dark Dragon" at the Tokyo Game Show 2016.

The mobile game will be a part of the "Final Fantasy XV" universe. "King's Knight: Wrath of the Dark Dragon" will be one of the games wherein the characters from the Final Fantasy world gets to play in the mobile arena, similar to Justice Monsters Five, a mobile pinball game which became available to iOS and Android last month.
"King's Knight: Wrath of the Dark Dragon" will be free for all when it lands in the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. It will be featuring a multiplayer mode of up to four players, and will eventually make its way to the main "Final Fantasy XV" package as a mini-game via downloadable content.
Bringing the Reality to Final Fantasy
"King's Knight: Wrath of the Dark Dragon" is an homage to the King's Knight game franchise. This video game series is actually celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, planting its roots even longer than the "Final Fantasy" franchise itself. It is a scrolling shooter RPG that was originally created for the NES platform.
"King's Knight: Wrath of the Dark Dragon" will itself be inside the "Final Fantasy XV" world. It was reported that even Noctis and his friends have been playing the game on their own mobile phones in their downtime.
Being an adventure for four, the players can create their own party and choose from different companions. There will also be some PvP aspects incorporated, as players can connect will other players around the world. It will be showcasing some of the enemies that the players will face in the "Final Fantasy XV," along with the other characters from the game.
Availability
The free-to-play adventure game will be available for iOS and Android device. As of yet, there are still no exact release dates for "King's Knight: Wrath of the Dark Dragon," but is expected to be released shortly before or after the release of its tie-in "Final Fantasy XV" video game. Additionally, "Final Fantasy XV" will be released on November 29 globally, and will be available to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
