Final Fantasy XV Release Date March 2015, Updates and Trailers on Tokyo Game Show 2014
Square Enix, makers of the Final Fantasy franchise, announced the release of Final Fantasy XIII back in 2006. However, during the 2013 Electronic Entertainment Expo the company changed the name of the title from Final Fantasy XIII to Final Fantasy XV.
The release date for the newly renamed title was placed somewhere in March 2015 when Square Enix announced that their focus was in developing the Kingdom Hearts 2.5 remake. The HD remake of the game is set for a 2014 release. Alongside Final Fantasy XV, the company is also developing the third title in the Kingdom Hearts franchise.
Co-creator of the Kingdom Hearts game, Tai Yasue, ensured that development for Kingdom Hearts 2.5 wasn't getting in the way of the development of either the next Final Fantasy title or the Kingdom Hearts title.
"We've been working full throttle. It's moving along," Yasue told GameInformer. "We structure our team in a way that development of 2.5 doesn't impede Kingdom Hearts III. I'm actually very excited about Kingdom Hearts III."
The Final Fantasy title was originally set for a 2014 holiday release but the company decided to push the release back to early 2015. The company has also felt that their fans were not happy with the previous Final Fantasy releases and are hoping to remedy it with Final Fantasy XV.
Square Enix is also planning to announce a number of updates and commence promotions for the game at the Tokyo Game Show 2014, on September 18. The company will also be introducing new game and story trailers alongside the updates.
