Fiona Apple in Tears in Concert After Hecklers Tell Her to 'Get Healthy'
Fiona Apple was in tears this week, after being heckled during one of her concerts, with someone reportedly shouting out that she should "get healthy."
Apple was playing in Portland, Oregon's Newmark Theater with Blake Mills this week.
The controversial incident took place late in the singer-songwriter's set when a tense encounter took place with a female audience member. The incident led to Apple calling for the woman to be thrown out of the concert.
Towards the end of her set, the female heckler shouted out, "Get healthy -- we want to see you in 10 years."
The comments left Apple visibly upset, and she responded back, "I am healthy! Who the **** do you think you are?"
Apple then shouted, "I want you to get the **** out of here. I want the house lights on so I watch you leave!"
Following Apple's outburst, another member of the audience, this time a male, shouted out: "You're a has-been!"
The woman who was told to leave, started to make her way out of the venue, but still managed to slip in another comment to Apple, shouting, "I saw you 20 years ago and you were beautiful!"
Apple was obviously shaken by the comments, and even though she continued on to sing "Waltz (Better Than Fine)" she was tearful as she sang. When she was done, she apologized to the crowd and then departed from the stage.
