Windows 10 Update on Lumia Mobile Phones: First Lumia Cell Phones to Receive Windows 10 Revealed
Ever since the official global release of Windows 10 on July 29 happened, Microsoft has been slowly but surely rolling out the update to Microsoft users all over the world and this time Lumia handsets are also getting some as well.
Microsoft has confirmed that all Lumia phones will receive the Windows 10 upgrade and the first 10 to receive has also been revealed already. According to Tech Times, the first batch of Lumia models that will get the update include the Lumia 430, Lumia 435, Lumia 930, Lumia 532, Lumia 535, Lumia 540, Lumia 735, Lumia 640, Lumia 640 XL and Lumia 830.
Those with models that are not in the list need not to worry as they are said to also receive the update. The list is just the first wave of devices to be updated as the software giant seems to be balancing the rollout. More devices will later on receive the notification for Windows 10 upgrade.
According to Microsoft, users will enjoy the new features that Windows 10 Mobile will present. Some of it include new Office apps, a refreshed Action Center, a smarter Cortana, support for universal applications and the Edge browser which will let users view notifications. It will also let them respond to or dismiss them across many devices like tablet, PC or handset. In terms with its look, the Windows 10 Mobile interface isn't too far off that of Windows Phone 8.1, although it does have a more modern look, reports V3 UK.
While the company is rolling out the latest software, they are also busy preparing for the release of a pair of flagship smartphones that is deemed to be worthy of the Windows 10 update. They are still contemplating whether the announcement should take place at the IFA or at a special event that will be held at least before the year closes. The new phones will have the names Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL which are nicknamed as Talkman and Cityman, respectively.
