Home renovation power couple Chip and Joanna Gaines recently confirmed that "Fixer Upper" season 5 would be their last. Following the announcement, fans started speculating about the possible reasons behind their decision to pull the plug on their show despite its strong fan base, with some citing that the couple might be opening up a new business. This week, however, it was revealed that the decision was primarily because Chip and Joanna wanted to ensure the safety of their children.
Since the premiere of their HGTV show, the couple has tried so hard to keep their personal lives — especially their children — out of the spotlight. However, a source recently revealed that despite Chip and Joanna's efforts to keep their family life private, some people still drive by to take pictures in front of their house. According to the source, this presented a security issue for the couple's four children, which include Drake, 12, Ella, 10, Duke, 9 and Emmie, 7.
In a separate statement, Magnolia Markets' PR Director Brock Murphy said that Chip and Joanna's decision was mostly based on their desire to take a break from the celebrity life, refresh and spend more time with their children. It was also partly because they wanted to focus more on their growing businesses. "They were very open and honest about their reasoning behind this decision when they first shared the announcement," said Murphy.

Recently, the couple debunked rumors that they would leave the show to launch a skincare line and to fix their marital issues. Joanna also shared on Instagram this week that she is set to release a cookbook soon.
On Instagram, Joanna revealed to her fans that her Magnolia Table Cookbook was already in the works. "After a week-long photoshoot for our cookbook, celebrating with some homemade mac n cheese and brownie pie just feels right," she said in a post.
