Flash-Arrow Crossover Spoilers, Latest News: Second Episode To Introduce Velocity 9?
DC fans are in for a treat as the two-part crossover of "Arrow" and "The Flash" is currently underway. The first part of the two-hour team-up between the two allies introduced viewers to the immortal villain Vandal Savage (Casper Crump) and Carter Hall aka Hawkman (Falk Hentschel), bringing viewers closer to the much-anticipated DC spinoff series "Legends of Tomorrow."
Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) meet up once more in "Legends of Today" to battle the 6,000-year old Savage. Cisco Ramon's (Carlos Valdes) love interest, Kendra Saunders (Ciara Renee), is the target of Vandal's attack. They ask Barry for help and he takes Kendra to Star City and places her under Oliver and his team's protection while he sorts things out back in Central City. It is later revealed that Kendra is actually the reincarnation of an Egyptian warrior named Chayara and that she and Hawkman, an Egyptian Prince named Khufu, were soul mates bound to find each other in every reincarnation.
Meanwhile, Earth 2's Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) and Caitlyn Snow (Danielle Panabaker) develop a serum called Velocity 6 to enhance Barry's speed. Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears), Earth 2's Flash, tests the drug and regains his power in time to save Wells from a bullet shot by Patty Spivot (Shantel VanSanten).
"If you're a fan of the comics, you know that a big part of the comics is Velocity 9," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg says. But given that the scientists dubbed their serum Velocity 6, Kreisberg added: "It's safe to say that there'll be a few more iterations of that formula. How it plays out and how it works and who uses it and the effects, that's something that you'll have to watch [to find out].
The second part of the crossover will be the "Arrow" episode "Legends of Yesterday," which will further acquaint us with the newest superhero team on the block. The group will include The Atom (Brandon Routh), White Canary (Caity Lotz), and Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) - none of whom are in the crossover episodes.
"We wanted to have a couple, but not all," executive producer Greg Berlanti told EW."It also felt right that we would use the characters that we hadn't introduced on the individual series yet, with the exception of Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill), who we're saving for the pilot of "Legends.'"
The "Flash"-"Arrow" crossover event continues on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
