'Floigan Bros.' DLC: Dreamcast Game's DLC Unlocked

In 2001, gaming console Dreamcast was officially discontinued. At the time, the video game "Floigan Bros." was still in development for the console and was only launched about four months later. A console arguably ahead of its time, the game was also supposed to release a 12-month schedule of downloadable content (DLC) that was never appropriately unlocked — that is, until now.

Thanks to the efforts of the video game's original developers, all of the "Floigan Bros." DLC is now available for those who still have a copy of the game.

According to GameRant, Visual Concepts had to work their way around their own anti-tampering security measures in order to unlock the game's full DLC. By manipulating a January DLC file, the developer was able to unlock each month of additional scheduled content.

Original members of the "Floigan Bros." development team such as Tim Meekins, Nick Jones and John Elliot have put in much of effort to unlock the game's extensive DLC, allowing gamers to enjoy a nostalgic and historical video game.

Interested gamers can download the DLC file from Dreamcast Live. A full list of each month's DLC for the game has also been provided. The years' worth of monthly scheduled additional content includes new outfits, characters, in-game items, as well as a brand-new mini-game.

Sixteen years ago, these monthly downloads were called "Fun Moigle Things" or FMTs. The titles of these monthly DLCs are as follows: "Knitted Hat" (January), "Valentine" (February), "Cinnamon Candy" (March), "Easter Egg Hunt" (April), "Gray Wig" (May), "Baseball Cap" (June), "Fireworks" (July), "Baseball's World Series" (August), "Back to School" (September), "Halloween Costume" (October), "Pilgrim" (November) and "Presents in the Mail" (December).

To promote the recent availability of the "Floigan Bros." DLC, an announcement video of its launch has also been released.

"Floigan Bros." is only one of several games launched for the discontinued "Dreamcast" console that has managed to live on even after so many years because of its dedicated fan base and active online community.
