Flowerpot Munchkin: Oz Actress, Margaret Pellegrini, Dies Aged 89 (Munchkins Walk of Fame Video)
Flowerpot Munchkin from iconic movie The Wizard of Oz has died aged 89, according to reports.
Actress Margaret Pellegrini, who played the "Flower Pot" Munchkin in the hit 1939 film "The Wizard of Oz," died Wednesday Aug. 7 at her Phoenix, Arizona home.
The actress was only 15 years old when the original Wizard of Oz movie was filmed; she was one of the youngest actors to play a Munchkin. In total there were 124 actors in the film that played Munchkins.
Pellegrini was cast as the "Flower Pot" Munchkin, but also appeared as one of the sleepy head kids in the movie.
Over the years the number of surviving Munchkins from the much-loved film has been dwindling, and there are now only two other surviving Munchkins from the original movie.
The two remaining Munchkins following Pellegrini's death are Jerry Maren, 93, the Lollipop Kid, and Ruth Duccini, 95, who played an unnamed munchkin villager.
