Floyd Mayweather Fight News: 'Money Mayweather' Continues To Criticize 'Little Bro' Adrien Broner
The current personal relationship between retired undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. and four-division world champion Adrien Broner has become more strained.
After calling themselves "brothers" over the last few years, "Money Mayweather" and "The Problem" suddenly became at odds when the latter began lambasting Mayweather's team, saying statements like "F--- the Money Team!"
Mayweather then responded by questioning Broner's statements, noting how he still wears TMT apparel while throwing out some harsh words. Broner is currently preparing himself for a fight against one of Mayweather Promotions' fighters, Ashley Theophane on April 1st at the DC Armory in Washington.
At stake would be Broner's WBA junior welterweight title.
Recently, a video of Broner surfaced all over the Internet, where he was seen at a Walmart store throwing his money on the floor, after someone handed over his change. It was supposedly a sarcastic message from him, insinuating that he already had too much money to accept the change.
The said video got to Mayweather, which according to him "kind of hurt his feelings" upon seeing it. In a report by Edward Chaykovsky for Boxingscene, Floyd Jr. says he did not understand how Broner was acting, but did make a conclusion that it was because the latter "is still young and still learning."
Mayweather also compared himself with the 26-year old Broner, noting how he was already at an elite level at the said age. He then went on to question Broner's performance in some of his fights.
"His two biggest fights were against Shawn Porter and Maidana, and he came up short," Mayweather said. "I think he won a world title 3 or 4 times. I know he won one against Paulie Malignaggi, but I don't know who else he won a title from."
Broner holds a professional record of 34-2, with one no contest (with 23 wins by knockout). He last saw action last October against Russian Khabib Allakhverdiev, where he won by unanimous decision, and bagging the vacant WBA title in the process.
