Floyd Mayweather News: Wladimir Klitschko believes "Money May" retirement won't last

Former WBA, IBF, and WBO world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko joins in on the fray, as one of the fighters who believe that retired undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. will be coming out of retirement.

In a report by Dan Rafael of ESPN, "Dr. Steelhammer" says that while he is not exactly a fan of "Money May", credit should be given where credit is due.

"Life is up and down except for Floyd Mayweather. You have to give him credit," Klitschko said. "I am not his fan, but for boxing, hands down, he never became cocky to where he lost focus. He was always a true professional and did his job."

"He was disciplined. Many fighters are talented and good but can't match that success," he continued. "He was disciplined. I'm not like a Floyd fan outside of [the] ring but he is absolutely disciplined and a true professional inside the ring."

Mayweather last saw action in September, when he fought his 49th professional fight against former world champion Andre Berto in Las Vegas. As expected by many, Mayweather picked up an easy unanimous decision victory, keeping his undefeated record intact (49-0, with 26 victories by knockout).

Right after the fight, he announced his retirement from the sport of boxing.

Yet, despite his announcement and reiterations of staying retired, many of his fellow boxers do not believe that Mayweather is actually done with fighting. Early this month, long-time rival Manny Pacquiao expressed his skepticism, noting "Money May's" previous retirement announcements that did not hold water.

"Of course we hear from him many times that he has retired. It's not new for him," Pacquiao said in an early November interview with CNN.

Klitschko apparently shares the same sentiments, as he believes Mayweather will still be up for one more fight.

"I think he still has some fight there," he said. "I think the 50-0 record, you know, to be tied with Rocky Marciano is cool."

"I still really believe that he's not going to retire for some reason, even if he announced it," he continued. "But I think he's going to go ahead and do at least one more (fight)."
