Former 'Bachelor' Star Vienna Girardi Speaks Out: 'Don't Take Anything to Heart' (VIDEO)

Former "Bachelor" contestant, and winner, Vienna Girardi has remained relatively quiet after her relationship with Jake Pavelka ended in disaster. She briefly dated Kasey Kahal, another "Bachelorette" alumni but is now single and focused on her career.

"The best things happen when you least expect them," Girardi told Radar Online. "I'm single and really focusing on myself and my career, and if something great comes along, I'm all for it, but I'm not looking."

Girardi is working on losing the 35 pounds she put on after returning from Los Angeles. She is bound and determined to lose the weight and get healthy again. Watching reality TV is not on her priority list; as she says, that type of TV "isn't reality."

"I stay in touch with a lot of the girls I met from the show and also people I met along the way. You create such a close bond with people you share experiences like this with that staying in touch and having a strong friendship is just natural," Girardi said of her time on "The Bachelor."

Girardi also has a bit of advice for current "Bachelorette" Desiree Hartsock and all the men who are competing for her attention.

"Don't take anything to heart. No one really knows who you are and you have to understand that it isn't just a TV show. It's entertainment. Make the most of the experience, then move on. Reality TV stars have a very short television life, so make sure you have a backup and know when to step away from the spotlight and have a normal life," the former star said.

"I have a great career and I'm back in my hometown of Orlando, Fla. with my friends and family," Girardi added. "And I finally feel like myself again."
