Frank Ocean's Cousin Suing Chris Brown Following Fight?

Sha'keir M. Duarte, singer Frank Ocean's cousin, reportedly filed a lawsuit against singer Chris Brown in a Los Angeles Superior Court recently.

Ocean, 25, and Brown, 24, were the subject of media headlines after reportedly engaging in a physical altercation outside of a West Hollywood, Calif. recording studio on Jan 27. Witnesses said Brown started the dispute when he punched Ocean over a parking space, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore.

While Ocean said he would not press charges against Brown, Duarte said a bodyguard of Brown's whom he called "Hood" assaulted him. According to Duarte, Brown encouraged "Hood" to do so, TMZ reports.

"Get that (expletive)," Brown reportedly told "Hood" before mocking Duarte. "You just got your (expletive) beat and it's all on camera."

While Duarte said he was disabled following the attack that has caused him to sue for unspecified damages, Brown's representatives responded to TMZ's report.

"Chris Brown does not employ anyone named Hood," Brown's representatives told TMZ.

While numerous reports claimed Ocean wanted to press charges against Brown, the former took to his Tumblr account to let fans know that he decided against doing so.

"As a child I thought if someone jumped me it would result in me murdering or mutilating a man," Ocean wrote on his Tumblr page earlier this year. "But as a man I am not a killer. I'm an artist and a modern person. I'll choose sanity. No criminal charges. No civil lawsuit."

Brown, admitted that he put the altercation that took place with Ocean behind him two months after the incident took place.

"With the Frank Ocean situation, I'll put it like this. It's in the past," Brown said in a previous interview on Big Boy's Neighborhood on Los Angeles' Power 106. "Some stuff went down but it's … always sensationalized and people blow it out of proportion."
