'Friday the 13th: The Game' Gameplay News: New Counselor, Map and Jason Added

Gun Media made sure to celebrate Friday the 13th by adding a slew of exciting new content to their horror survival hit "Friday the 13th: The Game."

The update is inspired from "Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter," the fourth installment in the hit franchise. It is only fitting that the new location will be none other than the Jarvis House.

This is of course the abode of the hero Tommy Jarvis played in the movie by Corey Feldman. The new playable Jason will of course be the one from the film as well and he wields a weapon called the pig splitter.

The "Friday the 13th: The Game" update also adds a new Counselor, the hippie Mitch Floyd. Since he is based on the stoner Chuck from "Part III," he is bound to have a miserable time.

Despite being someone players can count on to compose himself during horrific situations, Mitch has extremely bad luck that it worsened by his poor speed and strength that would barely help him in escaping the clutches of the serial killer. His stealth skills could help him but his below-average stamina cancels most of it out.

This puts him in serious trouble because the new playable Jason in "Friday the 13th: The Game" can run, has serious weapon strength and destructive capabilities. His weaknesses include water speed, shifting and traps so these are the best chances of players in outrunning him.

A couple of new features have also been added to the game including one in which they might encounter rain, making the chases and attacks all the more menacing.

The "Friday the 13th: The Game" update also now allows Counselors to "push" other Counselors:

In order to prevent players from griefing via "bodyblocking", we have introduced a new feature that allows Counselors to push each other. The player being pushed will slowly walk away in the direction opposite of the player pushing. This feature does not affect Jason.

Finally, Gun Media also made some necessary tweaks and bug fixes to ensure a smooth experience for players as they enjoy the latest "Friday the 13th: The Game" additions. The patch notes are detailed here.
