'Frozen 2' Plot News, Spoilers Update: Princess Anna to Become a Villain in Rumored Twist?
"Frozen 2" is still a long way from its date of release but speculation about the movie's plot has already flooded the Internet, and one of the more outlandish rumors claims an unexpected twist that will see Princess Anna transforming into a villain.
Rumor has it that "Frozen 2" will feature Princess Anna turning into the movie's next villain as she explores her own superpowers, says Bit Bag. This speculation stemmed from Movie News Guide's (MNG) previous report that the second installment of the animated movie may end unhappily for Queen Elsa and her sister.
After finding out that she also has superpowers of her own, Princess Anna will reportedly use them against Queen Elsa. However, director Chris Buck's interview with HitFlix seem to cast a shadow on that theory, the report relays.
"Her superpower is love. That's Anna's superpower," Buck said in his statement to HitFlix.
Director Jennifer Lee, on the other hand, explained that love can be very powerful because it gives a mama bear the strength to lift a car to save its child. Other reports fueled the rumor further after reporting that the new villain in the second installment will be a woman, the report details.
Meanwhile, Moviepilot said "Frozen 2" might take inspiration from Nordic or Scandinavian fairy tales. If this rumor proves to be true, fans are bound to see weird characters such as the beautiful yet evil Huldra, the goblin-like creature Fossegrimen, Askeladden who is similar to Cinderella, and the travelers Huldufolk, Movie News Guide reports.
Although the existence of Nordic or Scandinavian creatures in "Frozen 2" is still unconfirmed, what is known is that the upcoming movie will tackle social issues common among young people. Buck and Lee have previously teased that the second installment of the movie will be used to create awareness in the present generation.
More details and rumors about "Frozen 2" are expected to surface in the coming months.
