'Frozen 2' to Feature Major Throwback from Elsa's Childhood
"Frozen 2" is one of the most anticipated movie sequels of today's time, and the rumors about its story line are bound to tickle fans' curiosity about a major character.
Rumor has it that "Frozen 2" will feature a major throwback from Queen Elsa's life as a little child. The first movie was a huge success, and Disney's plan of focusing on Elsa's childhood story may just be the right ingredient that will contribute to the sequel's success, according to a Movie Pilot report cited by Latinos Post.
Fans will see more of Young Elsa in "Frozen 2" because Idina Menzel has already been confirmed as a cast member in the sequel. The flashbacks will give viewers a more solid backstory on Elsa's magical childhood, the report details.
Writers will also capitalize on the history of Elsa's powers. "Frozen 2" will explore the real reason for her winter powers and the possibility of genetics playing a role in its existence. Moreover, the next film will feature more of Elsa and Anna's parents and relatives, Youth Health reports.
In addition, fans will see a more carefree Young Elsa in "Frozen 2." She will be seen spending more time with her sister Anna, in contrast to her very controlled demeanor in the first "Frozen" movie.
"In Frozen she had such a dramatic journey, and at the end she's just starting to feel like she can open up and have some fun again," Latinos Post quotes Director Chris Buck's statement on Frozen 2. "That's what was really good about Frozen Fever -- we could have fun with Elsa."
In an interview with MTV News, Buck also revealed that Elsa and Anna's parents did not really die. The shipwreck did happen, but their return was delayed because their mother turned out to be pregnant. She later on gave birth to a baby boy while still aboard the boat, the report relays.
Meanwhile, the story line of "Frozen 2" is still unfinished, but director Buck says the ending will turn out to be "terrific." All of the cast members and production staff from "Frozen" will come back to work on the sequel.
"Frozen 2" will premiere in 2018, but the exact release date has yet to be announced.
