'Frozen 2' Update & Rumors: Movie Plot to Feature Young Elsa?

The arrival of "Frozen 2" in theaters is still far away and Disney is very careful in keeping things under wraps. But that doesn't stop fans from finding updates about it especially since there is a plethora of rumors and details going around the web. The latest one to be added into the mill is about Queen Elsa.

According to Vine Report, the sequel of the hit 2013 Disney film will cover the story of Elsa's childhood days. Anyone who has watched "Frozen" knows that the movie kicked off with Anna and Elsa as little girls. Elsa was already seen to have ice powers then but it wasn't revealed how she got it.

There's a high possibility that a flashback will occur in the second film that elaborates how the young Elsa got her power. Movie News Guide reported that there are speculations as to how it happened. It said that the king and queen were already aware of their daughter's ability to freeze things even before she hit Anna in the heart. It was speculated after Elsa's father told the leader of the trolls that his daughter was born blessed with it and that it was not a curse. Some also said that perhaps her magical power was caused by something in her genes.

Speculations grew stronger after reports revealed that the young actress who played the young Elsa is reprising her role. According to Latinos Post, Eva Bella is set to use her voice again for the sequel. But there's no news about the actress who played young Anna though.

Aside from a flashback, Fandango reported that the sequel will have a lighter and happier Elsa. After years of being locked away in the castle, the Queen of Arendalle will start to open up herself.

"[In Frozen] she had such a dramatic journey, and at the end she's just starting to feel like she can open up and have some fun again," co-director Chris Buck said. "That's what was really good about the short—we could have fun with Elsa. And that personality...you will see in the next one," said Buck.

The release date of the movie is not known yet as it is still being finalized. Fans of all ages will have to watch out for updates.
