'Full Throttle Remastered' to Release April 18
Tim Schafer has just announced a launch date for the remake of the biker-adventure game, "Full Throttle Remastered." The high-definition (HD) remaster will be coming out on April 18 for the PC, PlayStation 4 (PS4) and the PlayStation Vita (PS Vita).
The point-and-click adventure classic was first published by LucasArts more than two decades ago, 22 years ago to be exact, according to a short feature by PC Gamer. "Full Throttle" was the first solo project of Schafer while he was with LucasArts, and it was released way back in 1995.
Schafer, known for other classics such as "Monkey Island," "Grim Fandango" and "Day of the Tentacle," was a long-time creator for LucasArts before he moved on and founded his own game-development company in 2000. His new company, Double Fine Productions, was also responsible for the critically acclaimed game "Psychonauts."

Double Fine and Schafer first announced the HD remake for "Full Throttle" in December 2015. Now, more than a year later, the refresh of the classic adventure game is scheduled to launch for Double Fine fans on April 18. The remake will feature sleek, high-resolution graphics made in the style of the old game — the scenes will be rendered in "all-new, high-resolution, hand-drawn artwork."
Like in the earlier remakes by Double Fine such as the recent "Day of the Tentacle" and "Grim Fandango" remasters, players will also have the option to play the game in all of its 1995 classic glory, according to Engadget. A setting will let players re-experience the 90s-style graphics and animations of the original game, and the option can be switched on and off whenever it suits the player.
