Gaines Couple Confirms 'Fixer Upper' Ends After Season 5
Fans of the HGTV show "Fixer Upper" will no longer be able to see it after season 5.
Last Tuesday, couple Chip and Joanna Gaines took to Instagram and Joanna's blog to confirm that the show would end after the said season, which is set to premiere in November.
"Fixer Upper" followed both Chip and Joanna as they traveled around Waco, Texas, renovating homes.

In Joanna's blog, the TV host wrote: "While we are confident that this is the right choice for us, it has for sure not been an easy one to come to terms with. Our family has grown up alongside yours, and we have felt you rooting us on from the other side of the screen. How bittersweet to say goodbye to the very thing that introduced us all in the first place."
In their public announcement, the couple explained that the decision to not renew the series after season 5 was a result of their desire to give their businesses and family more time and attention. They also debunked speculations that concluding the show had something to do with "a fraudulent skincare line," which was previously rumored to be associated with Joanna.
Early this year, some reports emerged claiming that Joanna would launch her own skincare line and end "Fixer Upper." However, she denied the rumors via an Instagram post back in July.
In their recent announcement, Joanna made it clear that their plan was to take some time off to "strengthen spots that are weak," have some rest, and "give lots of love and attention to both our family and our businesses."
"Fixer Upper" debuted in 2013 and has been one of HGTV's most interesting TV shows. Since then, it has spawned a spinoff titled "Fixer Upper: Behind the Design," as well as a magazine and a home collection.
Meanwhile, "Fixer Upper" producer High Noon Entertainment released a statement following the Gaines couple's announcement and expressed its "full support of their decision" to end the show.
