'Gakuen Babysitters' Latest News: New PV Previews Ending Theme; Slice-of-Life Anime Series to Premiere in January

A new promotional video for the upcoming Japanese slice-of-life comedy anime series, "Gakuen Babysitters (School Babysitters)," has been released with a brief preview of the series' official ending theme.

The promotional video, which debuted on the official site this week, teases a glimpse of the Kashima brothers, Ryuichi and Kotaro, and the lives they lead as they interact with each other as well as with the people, adults and babies alike, around them. The video also previews the ending theme, titled "Oshiete yo (Tell Me)," sung by the unit, Hyorotto Danshi, which is comprised of the voice actors, Kotaro Nishiyama, who takes on the role of Ryuichi, and Yuichiro Umehara, who provides the voice of Hayato Kamitani.

The series is an adaptation of the manga series of the same name written and illustrated by Hari Tokeino. It tells the story of a high school student named Ryuichi and his younger brother, a toddler named Kotaro.

After they lost their parents in a plane crash, the chairwoman of the Morinomiya Academy, who has also lost her son and daughter-in-law in the same accident, took them in on the condition that Ryuichi works as a babysitter at the said academy's daycare center.

The series debut on Hakusensha's "LaLa" magazine in 2009 with the 15th compiled volume being released this year in October. The 16th manga volume, which is due out next year on Jan. 4, will be bundled with a drama CD featuring the cast of the upcoming anime.

Shusei Morishita is serving as director of the anime adaptation, which is being animated by the animation studio, Brains Base. Series composition is being handled by Yuuko Kakihara, while character design is done by Mina Osawa. Ruka Kawada is in charge of music composition.

The opening theme, titled "Endless Happy World," will be performed by voice actor Daisuke Ono, who provides the voice for the character, Keigo Saikawa.

"Gakuen Babysitters" premieres on Sunday, Jan. 7, at 11 p.m. JST on Tokyo MX. It will also air on Sun TV on Tuesday, Jan. 9, at midnight JST and late night at 12:30 a.m. JST on BS11. Information on other broadcast schedules and online resources can be found on the series' official site.
