Gal Gadot as Evil Wonder Woman in DCEU's 'Flashpoint'? Actress Also In Talks to Join Bradley Cooper in 'Deeper'
Is Gal Gadot playing an evil version of her iconic character Wonder Woman in the upcoming "Flashpoint" movie? The film will mark the solo outing of Ezra Miller as The Flash for the DC Extended Universe (DCEU).
Rumors that this big screen version of The Flash will follow the "Flashpoint" storyline from the comics have floated for months. It centers on Barry Allen/The Flash (Miller) messing up the timeline, thus reversing the fate of the rest of the DC superheroes.
In "Flashpoint," Batman and The Joker are actually Bruce Wayne's parents who turned against each other after their son's death. Wonder Woman, on the other hand, is an anti-hero who wages war against Aquaman and his wife Mera.
Warner Bros. has not confirmed if this will be the story for Miller's movie. Production for "The Flash" has taken several script revisions and director changes in two years. The studio has also not yet set the movie's official release date.
But whether or not Gadot is in the planned movie about The Flash, she is still expected to don her Wonder Woman costume in the sequel. It won't likely be in theaters until 2020 but director and writer Patty Jenkins is already preparing the treatment for "Wonder Woman 2" with Geoff Johns and Dave Callaham. Jenkins wants the follow-up movie to be set during the Cold War.
Meanwhile, Gadot is reportedly also in the midst of negotiations to star in her first non-DCEU movie since "Wonder Woman." The actress is being eyed in the Bradley Cooper sci-fi "Deeper."
The film is about a former astronaut (Cooper) who has been asked to join a deep ocean expedition. As the crew gets closer to the bottom of the sea, however, supernatural events take place that threatens the crew's lives.
Max Landis will write the screenplay to "Deeper" while Kornel Mundruczo will direct the movie. Production will begin in early 2018 if the actors sign on.
