Gal Gadot Replacing Angelina Jolie in 'Bride of Frankenstein' Remake? Director Bill Condon Gives Updates
Will "Wonder Woman" star Gal Gadot be in "Bride of Frankenstein"? Director Bill Condon reportedly wants the actress should Angelina Jolie turn down the project.
Jolie might not be able to do "Bride of Frankenstein" because of her commitment to the "Maleficent" sequel. The said Disney movie will begin filming in 2018, or at roughly the same production time schedule as the Universal flick.
Jolie, however, has no confirmed deal with Universal but the studio is still holding out in case the star will say yes. As such, Universal dropped "Bride of Frankenstein" from their movie release lineup for 2019 as filming is expected to be behind schedule.

Condon now wants Gadot to take over Jolie's role. Universal, however, has not yet gotten in touch with the star and Gadot's reps have not made any comments regarding Condon's wishes.
The studio is also wooing Javier Bardem to join "Bride of Frankenstein," but like Jolie, no deals have been confirmed with the actor.
"None of us want to move too quickly to meet a release date when we know this special movie needs more time to come together," Universal executives said in a statement announcing that pre-production of "Bride of Frankenstein" will pause. "Bill is a director whose enormous talent has been proven time and again, and we all look forward to continuing to work on this film together," the studio reps added.
David Koepp penned the remake to the 1935 classic. "Bride of Frankenstein" is supposed to be part of Universal's Dark Universe, along with "The Mummy" (Tom Cruise), "The Invisible Man" (Johnny Depp), "Dracula" and "The Wolfman." Condon, however, envisions "Bride of Frankenstein" as unconnected to any cinematic universe, even if that's what the studio plans.
"I will tell you this — what I'm doing is 100% making a really good monster movie. It has nothing to do with anything else. Nothing. Zero," he told Collider.
