Galaxy S3 Colors: Brown and Black Models Announced for Verizon

The Samsung Galaxy S3 will be released in two new colors on Verizon, including black and brown.

The carrier announced that it will be offering these two new variants of the wildly popular smartphone earlier today.

Both the black and brown models appeared on Verizon's front page this morning with a sign-up sheet for customers interested in knowing the availability of the new smartphones. Pricing should remain the same for the new colors since none of their inner specifications have been changed.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean update was finally confirmed for the U.S., which also affects Galaxy S3 users.

Samsung released a new list last week that reveals what devices will be or already have been updated to Jelly Bean on the five major U.S. carriers: T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and U.S. Cellular.

The Galaxy S3 was confirmed to receive the update on all five of the carriers.

The official Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean update has already leaked for Sprint users, though.

This version showed up as a ROM at XDA's developer's forum, where it can be installed on the Samsung device. Samsung's TouchWiz skin is featured on this build of Android and it also comes with Project Butter and Google Now.

There have been some problems with the ROM, however, as XDA members have reported that apps have been crashing with it. Curious S3 owners also should note that downloading it will void their warranty.

Another color for the device, the Garnet Red version of the Samsung Galaxy S3, is also now available in the U.K. SIM-free.

The device can be purchased by residents of the U.K. without a contract from a major carrier for just £429.99.

The device can be ordered from a retailer known as Expansys and will arrive in three to five business days.
