Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.4 KitKat Update Rolls Out for Canadian Carriers
The Android 4.4 KitKat update is now rolling out for the Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy S3 on various Canadian carriers.
Companies such as Rogers, Bell, TELUS and Koodo are all seeding the update to those two devices. The version for the Galaxy Note 2 weighs in at 500MB while the one for the S3 is 346MB.
The update brings various changes to both handsets including the white status bar icons, camera shortcut, wireless printing, album art on lock screen, NFC tap to pay support, options to set default messaging and launcher apps, transparent status bar, better stability, improved ram usage, smoother interface, Samsung KNOX 2.0, Samsung Wallet, Emoji for keyboard and several bug fixes.
Users can access the update through the Settings menu or wait for an OTA notification.
The Android 4.4.4 update is now available for the HTC One M8 and M7 Google Play Edition.
The new software brings security patches, bug fixes and some UI changes. It is rolling out slowly and users should receive a notification for it. If they don't, they can always access it through the settings menu.
The Android 4.4.4 release schedule for the carrier versions of the HTC One M8 and M7 leaked earlier this week in a new company roadmap.
This was the first hint at the update which is now rolling out. The company is also testing 4.4.3 with Sense 6 on both devices, however, HTC might skip that version in order to speed up the process of getting Android "L."
Other devices such as the HTC One M8 dual-sim version, HTC One Mini 2 and the HTC One E8 will also be receiving Android 4.4.4 very soon.
