Galaxy S4 Ships 40 Million Units in 6 Months
The Samsung Galaxy S4 has shipped 40 million units in 6 months.
The company's JK Shin announced the number earlier this month. The Galaxy S4 is Samsung's first 1080p flagship and it officially launched back in the Spring of this year.
Variations of the device such as the water and dust proof Galaxy S4 Active, a camera based Galaxy S4 Zoom were also released after the original.

Despite the high numbers, Samsung still expected the Galaxy S4 to move at a more rapid pace.
The Galaxy Note 3 fared a bit better as it has broken records by shipping 5 million units in just 28 days.
The new phablet was able to reach this milestone in half the time that it took the Note 2. The original Galaxy Note took five months to sell this many.
Samsung normally does not reveal how many devices it sold to consumers, so it is not clear how many of those units that were shipped actually ended up in people's hands.
The company launched the Galaxy Note 3 on Sept. 25 in 58 countries and an additional 82 markets since that time. JK Shin discussed the strong interest for the phablet that seems to be on its way to eclipsing the company's high-end flagship, the Galaxy S4.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 release date is apparently being pushed forward by the company to February after the disappointing sales of the S4.
A new report from South Korean media states that Samsung will announce the new flagship sometime in January and will launch it during February. The company's expectations for the Galaxy S4 were not met, despite its success.
This is just a rumor at this point, however; an earlier launch for the S5 would help Samsung to steal some of the buzz Apple has garnered with the iPhone 5S and 5C.
