Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1, Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 Android 4.4, KitKat Source Code Now Available

Samsung released the KitKat Kernal Source Code for the Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 and the Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 earlier this week.

This will help coders and developers to build a kernel or a ROM based on KitKat for either device.

The files are around 1.4 GB each and work for both variants of each device including the LTE and Wi-Fi only versions. Links to each code can be found here.

The new tablets made their debut during Samsung's event at this year's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The NotePRO packs similar to features to other tablets in the Pro line that were also introduced during CES.

In terms of design, the NotePRO features the same thin profile and faux leather backing as the other Note devices including the Note 3 and Note 10.1.

Specifications for the tablet include a 12.2-inch Super Clear LCD display with 2560 x 1600 resolution, a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB RAM, 32/64GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, 8-megapixel camera with LED Flash and Full HD video recording, 2-megapixel front camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.0, GPS and GLONASS, an infrared sensor, 9500mAh battery, Android 4.4 KitKat and the classic S Pen stylus.

The Galaxy TabPRO comes with the latest 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB RAM, an 8-megapixel camera, a 10.1-inch LCD capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 2560x1600 at 299 ppi, 16/32GB of internal storage, a microSD slot, and a non-removable 8220 mAh battery.

Both of these devices are two of the most powerful slates to hit the market in the last year or so. Apple is expected to launch the iPad Pro to compete with Samsung's latest. That device could hit the market as early as Q1 2014.
