'Gambit' Movie News: Filming of Movie Delayed

The production of Marvel and 20th Century Fox's "Gambit" movie has been delayed, and the culprit is director Doug Liman. Reportedly, the "Gambit" director has inked a deal with Amazon Studios for its "The Wall" movie, preventing him from working behind the rolling cameras of "Gambit."

The good news, though, is that "The Wall" is a small budget production, which means it will not take long before Liman can wrap up its production and finally proceed with the filming of "Gambit." This unavailability of Liman for "Gambit" also works in favor of the movie as far as its script is concerned. Currently, it is undergoing some tweaks courtesy of Reid Carolin, production partner of Channing Tatum, who is slated to play the titular role.

As the script is being re-written, though, it is expected that the movie will usher in a new set of cast, apart from Tatum. The previously rumored participation of Lea Seydoux in the movie may be out of the question anymore. Heroic Hollywood opines, though, that this should not be considered bad news at all as the production team behind "Gambit" seems to be making sure that the movie will not fail in impressing Gambit fans. Reportedly, the tweaks on the script are made to suit Liman's preference.

Meanwhile, Techno Buffalo noted that "Gambit" has already undergone several delays, thanks to the many bumps along the way the production encounters. It added that, whenever one concern of the movie is addressed, another problem seems to surface. The website also floated the question whether the changes done on the script are an effect of the box-office success of Ryan Reynolds' "Deadpool."

With this new delay, it goes without saying that "Gambit" will not be able to meet its originally slated showing date in October this year. Currently, the showing date of the movie, which is yet to start its production, is still up in the air.
