According to IGN, Williams said, "This year is a growing year for Arya, and it's an important year. Though right now it's not the Arya that we want to see and are used to, in the future we might look back and be like, 'Hey, she needed that.'"

She also explained that Arya will become more dependent on other people since she has lost her sight. She added, "She has to trust people that she can't even see, and rely on them to help her. That's really, really difficult for her, but ultimately a very, very strong season. She learns a lot of very valuable lessons that she ultimately uses against her teachers."

Williams also teased that fans will get to see more of Arya's battles with the Waif. The most recently released teaser for the "Game of Thrones" season 6 showed Arya taking on a fight despite her disability.

The actress also expressed her sentiments regarding her character's path. She stated that it is nice to be faced with a very challenging obstacle, as it is human to do so.
