'Game of Thrones' Season 6 News: Sophie Turner Says It's Sansa's Year
Stars of the hit HBO series "Game of Thrones" shared some details about what happened in the season 6 premiere.
The previous season of "Game of Thrones" ended with Sansa, played by Sophie Turner, and Theon, played by Alfie Allen, in danger when they fled from Ramsay Bolton, played by Iwan Rheon.
Their fate was questioned as they were seen jumping off a ledge together. Fortunately, the premiere of season 6 showed that the two were still alive, though still running from the Boltons. After being found by Bolton's men, the two of them were saved by Brienne of Tarth, played by Gwendoline Christie.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Turner recently shared some details about the dramatic scene. She said that it was nice to see how the events turned out. She said, "It was awesome. It was shot over four days and was very segmented, so I didn't get to see any of the stunt stuff — so seeing it [onscreen], it looked so cool. It was amazing."
She also said that fans can look forward to seeing Sansa's rise in the upcoming season. Turner stated that many will enjoy Sansa's storyline in the episodes to come. Her fellow cast member Maisie Williams, who plays the role of Arya, also shared her excitement for the upcoming turn of events.
Williams said, "Sansa's had it so hard, and finally, for something to go right, and to know as an audience member that she's actually in really safe hands with Brienne, is lovely. It's not just some guy with a shady hidden agenda. We have seen Brienne be very faithful and honest, so you know now that Sansa's in very good hands."
With that, fans can expect more action when the upcoming episodes of "Game of Thrones" air on HBO every Sunday nights.
