'Game of Thrones' Season 7 Preview: What Will Cersei Do as Queen and How Will It All End for Her?
Cersei's Reign as Queen May Be Short but Sweet
Warning: Possible spoiler ahead
At the end of season 6 of "Game of Thrones," it seems that Cersei Lannister painstakingly put all the pieces together in her grand scheme for the Iron Throne. However, how long will her reign last? If the lengths of reign of her two sons are any indication, things might get complicated fast for Cersei.
While Cersei might last till the end of season 7, the chances of her actually being on the Iron Throne when the show ends after season 8 is very slim.
Queen Cersei may slip slowly into insanity as the weight of the seven kingdoms might be too much for her, and she will have to deal with a lot while queen.
Cersei Has Isolated Herself from Everyone
During her crowning at the end of season 6, it seemed that those in attendance were more afraid of her than anything else. This is probably caused by the fact that many in King's Landing believe that Cersei is in fact behind all the chaos that has been happening.
Even Jamie Lannister gives Cersei a look of disbelief during the coronation ceremony. Jamie and Cersei have been growing ever more distant as the seasons have gone on, and Jamie's Kingslayer nickname may come into play once again. Although he will have to get past the resurrected Mountain to do so.
Daenerys and Jon Snow Are Gaining Momentum
Jon Snow has regained Winterfell and has been proclaimed as the king in the north. It has also been revealed through flashbacks that Jon is not a Snow but instead a Stark-Targaryen. This means that Jon actually has a valid claim to the Iron Throne, and if the theory is true, he could be a perfect match for the invading Targaryen / Dothraki / Greyjoy / Martell / Tyrell fleet.
Speaking of that fleet, it seems incredibly vast in the end scene of season 6. Unless something terrible to Daenerys' forces, expect many battles to be fought in the coming seasons.
Cersei Is Still on Arya's List
In a plot point dating way back to season 1, Arya is now a member of the Brotherhood of the Faceless. This makes her a deadly assassin, as shown when she killed Walder Frey at the end of season 6.
Cersei is still one of the few remaining people on that list that is still alive. It should expected that upon learning of Cersei's coronation, Arya will make her way to King's Landing to exact her revenge.
