'Game of Thrones' Season 7: What to Expect as Series Overtakes 'A Song of Ice and Fire'

The award-winning HBO juggernaut series "Game of Thrones" will officially overtake George R. R. Martin's bestselling series, "A Song of Ice and Fire" when season 7 arrives.

With no book to refer to, fans have no concrete clues as to what to expect from the new season save for some speculations and theories, but they are not alone as the cast is as curious as them as well.

In an interview with Moviefone, actor Kit Harington admitted that he is fascinated about what comes next after "Game of Thrones" season 7, but he is also alright dealing with the mystery.

"It's just amazing, in some ways, having no book to go on, because the scripts come through and you're completely in the dark about what they're going to do," he said.

"Believe me, I just finished season 7, and I am already counting down the days until I get the season 8 scripts," the actor went on to say.

Harington recognizes the mounting curiosity about how the epic series will come to an end. He already knows what transpires in "Game of Thrones" season 7, but the actor, like fans, does not have the slightest idea what happens after.

"Everyone's been wondering how it's going to end, and what's going to happen right from the get-go, and theorizing about it," the Jon Snow actor said.

"It's really exciting to me not knowing, genuinely having no idea where it's going to end, what they've got in their heads, and being the first to find out," he continued.

Harington did tease a "big change" for his character come "Game of Thrones" season 7, which will be a venue for big characters to finally cross paths.

In fact, set photos from last year reveal that Jon Snow is finally going to meet Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) as war looms over Westeros.

"Game of Thrones" season 7 premieres Sunday, July 17, on HBO.
