'Game of Thrones' Season 7 Release Date, Plot Rumors: Actor Teases Huge Change Made Just for New Season

After the reveal of the "Game of Thrones" season 7 teaser trailer, cast member Kit Harington revealed a bit more about the new season and what his character Jon Snow will be up to.

In an interview with The Huffington Post, the actor divulged that he did more action and more scenes in "Game of Thrones" season 7 "than I've ever done."

"They really focused it because less characters are coming in, and they're focusing in on the existing ones, and there are lots of people who cross paths, and that's something that I think the audience has been waiting for a long time," he went on to say.

"Game of Thrones" season 7 is described as the culmination of the storylines set up in the previous seasons, which means that many of the characters yet to meet will finally cross paths including Jon Snow himself and Daenerys (Emilia Clarke).

Even though the highly-anticipated new season will have fewer episodes than the previous ones, Harington said that HBO spent "an increasing amount of money" for it.

"So it's gonna be much bigger in scale, the CGI ... we're trying new things, experimenting with new camera techniques. I think we're trying to break boundaries and push past boundaries in these final two seasons," he said.

This means that while "Game of Thrones" season 7 will be a lot shorter than the past seasons, it will still be as epic, if not more. So fans will not have to worry about getting less this year.

Harington knows that with the popularity of the multi-award-winning HBO juggernaut, the expectations are on the rise with each new season.

For "Game of Thrones" season 7, they kept in mind to live up to all that, but also made sure that they do not rest on their laurels by still trying new things. "Even if it's a failure, at least trying to go out with a bang," Harington said.

"Game of Thrones" season 7 will premiere on Sunday, July 16, on HBO.
