'Game of Thrones' Season 8 Air Date, Spoilers: Cast First Table Read Starts Oct. 8

Work started for the cast of "Game of Thrones" for season 8. According to Liam Cunningham, who plays Ser Davos Seaworth on the show, the first table read happened Sunday, Oct. 8.

Cunningham revealed this detail in an interview via Buzzfeed's AM to DM Twitter show last Friday. He confirmed that he's going to Belfast, where "Game of Thrones" films, after the interview.

"On Sunday, I get off at five o'clock in the morning. I hop into the car and straight to Belfast for the official table reading of the last six episodes of 'Game of Thrones,'" Cunningham said.

The actor has the digital scripts but he cannot open these yet to take a peek at reading. He's still unsure of what's coming up at that time of the interview.

Cunningham further revealed that the table read will consist of three scripts on Sunday and another three scripts on Monday. After which, rehearsals will follow before the actual filming.

The final seasons of "Game of Thrones" will cost HBO $15 million per episode, as per Fortune. The production's expenses increased because each episode will run for more than 80 minutes long, just like a feature-length movie.

HBO's head Casey Bloys also said that "Game of Thrones" will be filming multiple endings to keep the show secured from spoilers and leaks. But actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays Jaime Lannister in the series, stated that this will be an unwise move for the network. It won't be practical for HBO to spend on episodes that will never get aired.

"I haven't read the script, so unless they will show several endings that could be a twist, they're not going to waste that money," Coster-Waldau told Marie Claire. "They know how expensive it is to shoot. You're not going to waste $100,000 a day to shoot something you're not going to use."

Meanwhile, HBO has yet to confirm when "Game of Thrones" season 8 will premiere. Speculations are that this won't happen until late 2018 or sometime in 2019.
