'Game of Thrones' Season 8 New Cast: Child Actors' Roles Revealed; Will There Be Flashbacks?

Casting of new roles is underway as pre-production for "Game of Thrones" season 8 begins. Producers are looking to add a boy and a girl above 8-years-old in the cast but could they likely be featured in flashback scenes?

The female child actor will supposedly play a Northern girl who comes from a family of soldiers, according to Watchers on the Wall. Like Lyanna Mormont (Bella Ramsey), the character will be fearless and strong-minded. The actress who will play this still-unnamed character will begin filming her scenes on Nov. 17.

The male child actor, on the other hand, will come from a poor family. The actor will be in multiple episodes in scenes that will film from November to December.

Speculations are that the young Northern girl could be Arya or Lyanna Stark and the boy's storylines might be about Gendry's childhood. Yet, given how short season 8 is, with only six episodes, the flashback scenes might eat up time that should wrap up the show since this is the final season.

While several spoilers for "Game of Thrones" season 8 have started appearing online, HBO's head Casey Bloys said that he expects the finale will be filmed with different endings. The move makes sense for a show that's constantly hounded by fans who try to get the scoop.

According to Vulture, drones flew over the set of "Game of Thrones" while filming season 6 and 7. Photo and video leaks then ended up social media, forum communities and various websites months before the seasons premiered.

"They're going to shoot multiple versions so that nobody really know what happens," Bloys told The Morning Call to explain what producers plan for the ending. "Because when you're shooting something, people know. So they're going to shoot multiple versions so that there's no real definitive answer until the end."

"Game of Thrones" season 8 will begin filming in mid-October in Ireland, Croatia, and Spain. The final season won't premiere on HBO until late 2018 or early 2019.
