'Game of Thrones' Season 8 News: HBO's Casey Bloys Says Show Runners are Shooting Many Versions of Series Finale
After capturing the attention of its fans during the seventh season, the "Game of Thrones" cast and crew are hard at work to give them the series finale that they want to see. HBO has given the show runners its full backing and recent reports reveal that the unwavering support of the network has them shooting several versions of "Game of Thrones" season 8 finale.
"I know in 'Game of Thrones,' the ending, they're going to shoot multiple versions so that nobody really know what happens," HBO's president of programming Casey Bloys said, as reported by Morning Call. "You have to do that on a long show. Because when you're shooting something, people know. So they're going to shoot multiple versions so that there's no real definitive answer until the end."
The news has since spread like wildfire in the community as fan theories ran rampant on who might be the Night King and who will finally claim the Iron Throne of Westeros.
Meanwhile, Variety reports that the move to shoot multiple versions of the series finale might have something to do with the recent cyber attack that HBO suffered. The hackers got a hold of several episodes and they were leaked online. By shooting more than one "Game of Thrones" season 8 finale, the show runners will have more options to choose from as to what might be the ending of the critically acclaimed series.
"Game of Thrones" season 8 has yet to receive an official airdate. However, HBO has previously said that the production will begin in October up to August next year. As a result, fans will not be able to see the final season until 2019. However, after the "Game of Thrones" season 7 finale was hailed as the most watched episode, fans are hoping to have spoilers in the coming months.
