'Game of Thrones' Season 8 Plot Rumors: Did Tormund Survive?

The cast of HBO's hit series "Game of Thrones" have arrived in Belfast, Northern Ireland for the filming of the show's eighth and final season.

When season 7 ended, there were questions about who will come back next season and who would not. One of the characters that fans have been curious about regarding his survival is Kristofer Hivju's Tormund Giantsbane. He has become a fan favorite over the last couple of seasons.

It can be recalled that during the final scene of season 7, which took place at Eastwatch, Tormund and Beric (Richard Dormer) were guarding the wall. However, the Night King and his army attacked, and his new ice dragon, Viserion, which he "stole" from Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), was able to take down the magical wall with its blue flame.

Tormund and Beric were seen running for their lives, but it was not revealed if they had survived. Now, new cast photos taken by eagle-eyed fans around Belfast suggest that Hivju's character is alive and that he will appear again in the upcoming season.

A photo of the 38-year-old actor at the Titanic Hotel in Belfast made rounds on social media, and Iain Glen, who plays Ser Jorah Mormont in the series, also reportedly arrived with him.

It has been confirmed that Glen is coming back for season 8, which could mean that Hivju is, too. What makes the clues even clearer that they are in Belfast for filming is that Isaac Hempstead Wright, who plays Bran Stark, a.k.a. the Three-Eyed Raven, was also traveling with them.

According to Vanity Fair, a fan was able to spot a number of "Game of Thrones" cast members on location, including Hivju, whom she photographed standing beside Ben Crompton, who plays Dolorous Edd of the Night's Watch. The said fan was also able to take a photo with Samwell Tarly actor John Bradley.

Kit Harington, Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, Emilia Clarke, and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau have also been sighted around Belfast recently.
