Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford Explains Why 'Borderlands 3' Has Not Been Formally Announced Yet
Pitchford has already confirmed that the next 'Borderlands' game is already in development
For all intents and purposes, the next "Borderlands" game, which is currently called by most fans as "Borderlands 3," is a real thing and coming eventually. And yet, the game itself has not been officially announced.
A formal announcement is not really needed for games to enter development, but there are likely fans out there who would still be more comfortable if the folks working on the game just went ahead and made things official
For those harboring some concerns, Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford recently explained why they should not be worried that much.
While making an appearance on the "Nerdvana Live Show," Pitchford explained that it was important to him to hold off on issuing any kind of official announcement until they have something concrete to present.
Pitchford added that developers often deal with a lot of pressure to present things even before they are completely ready to do so. Furthermore, Pitchford noted that things can change over the course of development as well.
Fans' expectations weigh heavily on the developers too, Pitchford acknowledged, and so they want to make sure that they have things in proper order before they go about officially unveiling the game.
Still, even if an official announcement is missing, Pitchford did mention that he and the other developers are indeed already working on the game that could very well be known as "Borderlands 3."
Previously, Pitchford expressed sentiments similar to those noted above while speaking to IGN, and he also mentioned then that he and the other developers really want to take a significant step forward with the series.
At this point, it just seems like fans are going to have to continue remaining patient as they wait for the developers to issue the announcement they have been longing for.
More news about "Borderlands 3" should be made available in the near future.
