'General Hospital' news, cast, spoilers: The Corinthos boys are headed down a dangerous path

Fans just witnessed Sonny's shooting this week. This event had instantly triggered fans to know that this will mean big changes for the Corinthos mob family, as heavy decisions will more likely fall into the hands of Sonny's son.

According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, the big storyline that will intertwine all mob families may be happening sooner than expected, and it will center on Michael Corinthos Quartermaine (Chad Duell). Now that Sonny is fighting for his life, it is expected that he will not be back to lead the mob anytime soon for now. So the most possible person to take over would be Michael.

Although Sabrina Santiago (Teresa Castillo) does not believe Michael would be cruel enough to take over the family business, a recent conversation between her, Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan), and Maxie Jone (Kirsten Storms) opened her eyes to a side of Michael she had never thought existed. Citing several occasions that Michael had to step up and use violence to solve problems, Sabrina realizes that he has had a mobster within him all along.

Furthermore, other signs that Michael will take over is the fact that Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) being a cop will render him unable to take the position, while Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig), having a violent and impulsive attitude, will not make him a good leader. Jake Doe (Billy Miller) is more than willing to assist Michael, in case he does decide to fill in. Jake has always been beside Sonny, and he would do the same for Michael.

If Michael does agree to lead the Corinthos mob, Michael, being part Quartermaine, may likely lead to a deal between the two mob families. Moreover, Nikolas Caddadine (Tyler Christopher), who has been targeting Michael, will more likely pull the evil Greeks/Russians into the mix. As Lulu and Valerie Spencer's (Brytni Sarpi) involvement with Dante, it will be the root of Spencers getting caught in everything.

"General Hospital" airs every weekday on ABC.
