'General Hospital' Spoilers: Will Emma Stay or Leave?

"General Hospital" fans may have to deal with a lot of good-byes. After Patrick Drake's announced exit from Port Charles, some have been left to wonder if his daughter Emma will follow his cue.

Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson) is about to bid "General Hospital" farewell after 10 years because he has accepted a gig on "The Young and the Restless." In an interview with Michael Fairman on "On Air On Soaps," the actor hinted that his on-screen daughter Emma (Brooklyn Rae Silzer) may also exit the show and follow her mom and dad, according to The Inquisitr.

The actor revealed that the Drake family will leave Port Charles after Patrick and Robin's wedding in early 2016. Emma may visit the town on summers, but she will be staying in another place as part of the family's happy ending, Celeb Dirty Laundry reports.

"I know this ending is going to take some people's breath away, because they are losing not only Brooklyn, but Patrick, and Robin to a certain extent," Thompson told Fairman in the interview. "But the great thing is I know they have plans to bring Brooklyn back when they can."

Thompson also praised Silzer for her stellar performance on the show and added that she has evidently grown in her career, the report relays.

While the news may be heartbreaking, Thompson consoled fans by saying the nine-year-old actress can come back to "General Hospital." He cited Kimberly McCullough, who has been on and off the series for many years while playing Robin Scorpio Drake. Like her, Silzer could also be accommodated whenever she wants to come back, the report details.

Meanwhile, Silzer will continue to showcase her acting prowess on "Beyond Borders," the "Criminal Minds" spin-off on CBS. The young star will appear as a guest for one episode.

Now that Emma's fate in "General Hospital" has been revealed, fans can only hold their breath and prepare for a tear-jerking farewell for the Drake family soon.
