Gennady Golovkin News: 'GGG' Calls out Both Canelo Alvarez and Amir Khan After Defeating Dominic Wade

On Saturday night, undefeated Kazakh knockout artist Gennady Golovkin fulfilled his end of the bargain by defeating Dominic Wade.

The 34-year old fighter demolished Wade within two rounds, adding another knockout victory in his win-loss slate. In a report by Boxingscene, Golovkin landed a total of 54 punches out of the 133 that he threw. He now improves to a record of 35-0, with 32 victories by knockout.

Upon retaining his IBF, IBO, and WBA world titles, as well as his WBC interim middleweight title, "GGG" will now be facing the winner of the upcoming May 7th title fight between Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and Amir Khan.

The fight between both men will be a 155-pound catchweight, where Alvarez will be defending his belt for the first time since winning it against Miguel Cotto in November. Right after his destruction of Wade, Golovkin immediately shifted his focus to both Khan and Alvarez, where he issued a simple warning for the two men.

"I'm still champ," Golovkin told HBO Boxing's Max Kellerman during the post-fight interview. "Of course, I need big name or big fight. Tonight, not easy work, just a big present for my fans."

"It doesn't matter who wins," he said, speaking of the Alvarez-Khan fight. "Just give me my belt. I need my belt."

In another Boxingscene report, Golovkin is planning to be present at ringside during the Alvarez-Khan clash. He does not, however, intend to confront the Mexican boxing sensation, unlike how current WBA and IBO light heavyweight champion Erislandy Lara did in May 2014.

Lara ended up losing to Alvarez via split decision, when they faced each other two months later. As for Golovkin, he says pulling something like Lara did would be going out of his character.

"This is not my style," Golovkin said. "He knows, I know, everybody knows the situation."

Golovkin's promoter Tom Loeffler confirmed that his fighter would indeed be present for the May 9th event.
