George Clooney will reportedly wed his fiancée Amal Alamuddin in September, five months after the actor proposed to the British lawyer.

On Wednesday insiders revealed that the couple, who began dating in October, have chosen a wedding date. While they have reportedly discussed London as a potential wedding location, they are still undecided.

"The wedding is to take place in September," an insider told RadarOnline.com.

"They've told family and friends they will only disclose the location at the last minute, and it will be very private," the source continued. "Neither George nor Amal want the wedding to be a public affair — and her family really doesn't either."

In addition to wedding planning, Clooney, 53, and Alamuddin, 36, are also hoping to start a family. The Hollywood actor is said to have traveled to Dubai to get approval from the Lebanese human rights lawyer's family prior to proposing and they are said to be thrilled with news of their engagement.

"[They] definitely want kids ASAP. [Amal's] father is getting older, and he really wants to see her kids [before he dies]," the insider explained.

"Out of all his kids, he's especially proud of Amal," the source continued. "It would mean the world to him to see her become a mom."

On April 22 Clooney reportedly cooked for Alamuddin at his Studio City, Calif. home before surprising her with a $650,000 diamond ring. She happily accepted and they have since celebrated their engagement with friends and family.

Clooney, a successful actor and film producer, is passionate about humanitarian work and he has been at the forefront of advocacy for resolving the war in Darfur. Alamuddin, who was born in Beirut and raised in England, also has a philanthropic background.

She is currently representing Wikileaks founder Julian Assange and is an adviser to Kofi Annan, the special envoy to Syria.

"George didn't get a formal permission from her dad, but it was an indirect hint," the source said.

"He definitely tossed the subject of marriage around with them so that he knew they would approve, but he really wanted the proposal to be a total surprise, and didn't want to give away any hints about when it was going to take place," the source explained.

The couple recently jetted off to Cabo San Lucas via private jet ahead of the May 10 wedding of Clooney's friends Thom Mathews and Karla Jensen. There he celebrated his birthday, according to E! News.
