Ghost In A Shell Release Date, Cast News: Movie Premiere Date Revealed, Scarlett Johansson to Star

Unlike the fate of most live action adaptations of anime/manga series, "Ghost In A Shell" seems to be faring better in terms of development. It has now gone past the stage of early development as the film recently signed on a lead star and more recently, Walt Disney Pictures has announced the film's release date. According to a Deadline report, Disney announced that the movie will be released on March 31, 2017, two weeks ahead of its original release date of April 14.

The new release date will pit the movie against Sony Picture's animated reboot of "The Smurfs," the report said.

The "Ghost In A Shell" live action movie will be in 3D and will star '"The Avengers" Scarlett Johansson who stars as Black Widow. The lead role was earlier offered to Margot Robbie, who had to drop out because of her role as "Harley Quinn" in another movie, "Suicide Squad." Johansson is seen by most reviewers as the best actress for the role, according to several reports.
