'Ghost Recon: Wildlands' Latest Update: Ubisoft Releases New Live Action Trailer

Game publisher Ubisoft has recently released a new live action trailer for its upcoming tactical shooter video game "Ghost Recon: Wildlands." The video is set to become a TV spot but can now also be viewed by gaming fans online.

Directed by John McTiernan, the latest live action trailer for the open world game is titled "Ruthless" and details the brutality of the infamous Santa Blanca drug cartel. In some of the scenes in the trailer, members of the crime syndicate are seen assaulting police officers; beating and victimizing women; kidnapping their enemies; and even burning people alive in front of their family members.

After displaying the savage acts of violence committed by the Santa Blanca drug syndicate, the "Ghost Recon: Wildlands" live-action trailer showed a glimpse of the Ghosts, a team of special forces operatives whose missions include the infiltration of the cartel's operations, neutralization of enemy forces, and the rescue of surviving victims of kidnapping.

According to GameRant, Ubisoft also has plans to release a feature-length live action documentary as a companion piece to the video game. The game publisher also shot a 30-minute short film titled "War Within the Cartel," which contains even more footage than the recently-released trailer.

Aside from the live action trailer, Ubisoft has also recently launched the open beta of "Ghost Recon: Wildlands." Scheduled to be available from Feb. 23 until Feb 27, the open beta is available on all the game's platforms such as the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Pre-loading began ahead of the open beta test on Feb. 21.

As Ghosts, gamers will have access to two provinces – Itacua and Montuyoc – two different landscapes where up to four players can work together in dismantling the drug cartel, one mission at a time. Those who take part in the open beta will also gain access to the Unidad Conspiracy reward which will add three exclusive missions.

"Ghost Recon: Wildlands" is scheduled for release on March 7 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
