'Gilmore Girls': Will Rory Get a Sibling?
Fans of "Gilmore Girls" are waiting for new updates on whether or not the series will get another installment.
Previously, Netflix's chief content officer Ted Sarandos admitted that they have been conversing with Amy and Dan Palladino on continuing the series after "A Year in the Life." Many fans have been vocal with their request for more episodes, following the - some would say - disastrous ending with regards to Rory's (Alexis Bledel) storyline. She told her mother, Lorelai (Lauren Graham), that she was pregnant during the finale. According to Sarandos, they are aware of the viewers' reactions to the revival.
"We hope. We obviously loved the success of the show, fans loved how well it was done, it delivered what they hoped. The worst thing is to wait a couple of years for your favourite show to come back and for it to disappoint you, but they sure delivered and people were really excited about more, and we have been talking to them about the possibility of that," Sarandos told UK's Press Association.
If the Gilmores' story will continue, the new episodes will likely dwell not only on Rory's pregnancy, but on Lorelai's married life to Luke (Scott Patterson). There is also a chance that the couple will welcome a new bundle of joy, presenting Rory with a sibling. The showrunners may even opt to show Rory and Lorelai both pregnant with their babies. It will be interesting to see how their dynamics will change. Lorelai still does not know who the father of Rory's baby is - at least that's what the viewers who were left hanging believe since the scene ended abruptly after the famous "last four words" were uttered.
Meanwhile, it has been recently reported that Milo Ventimiglia, who played Jess, one of Rory's ex-boyfriends, would not be joining the potential new installment. Jess and Rory were shown to be good friends in the revival. He went to Stars Hollow to see her and to catch up. Rory confessed to Jess about her disappointments and fears. He supported her and told her she was still the same Rory he used to know. However, Ventimiglia recently confirmed that he would not be joining the next part of the show.
