Since the girls will be taking on high school, the series will convey the message of how roles and expectations are already given to girls at a young age, specifically, it will discuss how young girls are not encouraged to focus on subjects such as science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

With that, the upcoming midseason premiere is expected to see Maya and Riley taking on a Chemistry class. It was revealed that Lucas and Maya will be partners, while Riley and Farkle will be paired up. The upcoming episode will be titled "Girl Meets STEM."

As for the love triangle, the writers of the series recently posted a hint on their official Twitter account. They revealed that the situation between Riley, Maya, and Lucas will not be resolved right away. The post states, "Minor issues resolve quickly. This won't. Because if you know us, you know we'll do much more than a triangle. This all began in the pilot."

"Girl Meets World" season 2 is expected to return early 2016.
