'Girl Meets World' Season 3 Spoilers: Two-Part Premiere Will Show Characters Now In High School
The premiere of "Girl Meets World" season 3 is less than a month away, which means that fans will soon see their favorite characters heading to high school.
Season 2 of "Girl Meets World" saw Riley, played by Rowan Blanchard, graduating from middle school, which means that she and her friends will soon experience new adventures in high school.
According to The Wrap, fans will be treated to a two-part premiere episode, which will air the first week of June. The episodes will see Riley, Maya (Sabrina Carpenter), Lucas (Peyton Meyer), and Farkle (Corey Fogelmanis) getting used to their new environment in high shool.
As said by the creator of the show, Michael Jacobs, the episodes will see the transition between middle school and highschool.
He said, "I think there was a big shift between Year 1 and Year 2. I think there will be a bigger shift between Year 2 and Year 3 … I think high school is the most confusing, awful, terrible and ultimately -- if you do it right -- wonderful springboard into college and the rest of your life."
Aside from the new setting, fans are also hoping to see how Riley and Maya's love triangle with Lucas will process in the upcoming season. There are rumors that the new episodes will bring a twist to the character's storylines. This was due to the tweet from the original account of the "Girl Meets World" writers.
The post read, "Ski Lodge is this year's Texas. Every episode so far is good. Upstate is real good. Riley, Maya, Lucas all find a relationship. We grow up." With that, there are a lot of questions regarding who will end up with Lucas. Some believe that Lucas will end up dating Riley, while Maya ends up with Josh, played by Uriah Shelton.
Previous reports stated that Josh will play a big part in the upcoming season, as he will be the one to help the group transition from middle school to high school. However, Jacobs explained that while this will be addressed, it will not be the main focus of the season.
He said, "This will be answered in season 3. It will span probably a third to a half of season 3. Not as the primary focus, but always as an underlying thing in existence for the characters. And then when we bring it up to primary, we will resolve it in a way that shows an answer to a much bigger question, which is, how do young people at this age perceive relationships?"
"Girl Meets High School Part One" will air on Disney Channel this Jun. 3 at 8:30 p.m. EDT while "Girl Meets High School Part Two" is expected to air on Jun. 5 at 8:30 p.m. EDT.
