'Girls' Last Tour' Episode 2 Spoilers: Chito and Yuuri's Journey Through a War-Torn Dystopian World Begins

Sometime in a future timeline, two girls are left to live with the consequences of war in the Japanese dystopian anime series "Girls' Last Tour." But how long can Chito and Yuuri hold on to their sanities before the pressures of their current condition become too much to bear?

The premiere episode showed the two girls navigating through what looked like an abandoned underground factory by following the direction of the slightest breeze. They were eventually able to find the way outside and share their last can of soup under a starry night sky.

However, their lives aren't always so simple, and conflicts are bound to break every once in a while, especially when it comes to their limited supply of food, as shown on the second half of the first episode. At one point, Yuuri resorted to aiming her gun at the unarmed Chito to get the last slice of the food ration they found at an abandoned war camp.

The gun never went off, of course, since the two girls also seemed to be well aware that they would only ever have each other to depend on as they travel through an abandoned world. Of course, not even this fact could not keep the two of them, especially the easy-going Yuuri, from a little childish fun and teasing every once in a while.

Despite the apparently dark undertones and the memories of the war that seemed to have wiped out the entire population of the earth, the series still manages to make its viewers feel good with the calmness and simplicity with which Chito and Yuuri handle their daily lives.

On the other hand, the war-torn settings also tend to make viewers feel a little wary about what could possibly go wrong in the long run. The premiere episode seems to have hinted that Chito and Yuuri were sent away on the truck by someone who is yet to be identified as their town was being ravaged by war.

Does the series ever plan on showing this particular point in the girls' past? What information will this reveal about what has happened to the world, as well as about Chito and Yuuri's journey?
