'Girls' Season 6 Episode 2 Spoilers: Hannah Chaperones Marnie as She Travels to Poughkeepsie With Desi
The upcoming episode of "Girls" season 6 will see Marnie (Allison Williams) traveling to Poughkeepsie with her ex-husband, Desi (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), much to Hannah's (Lena Dunham) chagrin.
The official synopsis for the new episode, titled "Hostage Situation," states that Hannah will act as a chaperone to her best friend as she goes on a soul-searching journey to Poughkeepsie. However, Marnie will be accompanied by Desi, her ex-husband, which will undoubtedly complicate things for her.
Meanwhile, Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet) has problems of her own. She is set to attend a "networking event for young professional women" and asks Elijah (Andrew Rannells) to be her plus-one. But Jessa (Jemima Kirke) will get in the way of Shoshanna's time at the event as she displays her usual foolish behavior. Jessa's appearance and general conduct will result in Shoshanna reassessing her life and friends after college.
A teaser trailer for the next episode has also been released. It starts out with Hannah sitting outside as Marnie pulls up looking ready for a vacation with Desi. Rocking sunglasses and a smile, Marnie greets Hannah with a high-pitched "hi," but the latter is clearly not pleased. Hannah unloads her dismay to Elijah, who snarkily comments on Marnie's choice of location.
The next scene features Shoshanna telling Jessa that she has plans for that night. When Jessa pries, Shosh tells her that "it's totally not your crowd." However, this does not stop Jessa from showing up at the event.
Meanwhile, here is a brief recap of the previous episode, titled "All I Ever Wanted."
After getting her piece published on an issue of the New York Times, Hannah was assigned a topic that sent her to the Hamptons. There, she met Riz Ahmed's Paul-Louis, a surf instructor Hannah sparked a connection with. After a night of one too many drinks, she and Paul-Louis sleep together. However, Hannah soon found out that her new lover is actually in a relationship - an open one. Despite this, she decided to make the most out of her time with Paul-Louis as the idea of going back to the city turned her smile upside down.
"Girls" season 6 airs Sundays at 10 p.m. EST on HBO.
